FAQ & Troubleshooting

Common questions and solutions to help you get the most out of Setflow.live.

Getting Started

Do I need to create an account?

No! You can start using Setflow immediately without any signup. We create anonymous sessions automatically so you can begin creating setlists right away.

Benefits
Instant access, no email verification, no passwords to remember. Your work is automatically saved and accessible via the event links.

How do I share my setlist with my band?

Click the "Share Event" button on your event page to get shareable links. There are two types:

Management Link: Full editing access for band members
Use this for collaborators who need to edit setlists
View Link: Read-only performance display
Perfect for audience, crew, or anyone who just needs to see the current setlist

What's the difference between event and view links?

Event Link

Full management access

  • • Edit setlists and songs
  • • Add crew members
  • • Send messages
  • • Control timers
  • • Go live/end live

View Link

Performance display only

  • • See current setlist
  • • View active messages
  • • Track current song
  • • See timer (if visible)
  • • Clean, distraction-free interface

Technical Questions

Does Setflow work on mobile devices?

Yes! Setflow is fully responsive and works great on phones and tablets. No app download required - just use your web browser.

Mobile Features:

  • • Touch-friendly interface
  • • Optimized text sizes for stage visibility
  • • Full editing capabilities
  • • Real-time sync across all devices
  • • Works in landscape and portrait mode

What happens if I lose internet connection?

Setflow handles brief connection issues gracefully:

During Connection Loss:
  • • View your current setlist (already loaded)
  • • Continue performing with existing data
  • • Timer continues running locally
  • • Changes are queued for when connection returns
When Connection Returns:
  • • Automatic reconnection and sync
  • • Queued changes are sent to server
  • • Real-time updates resume
  • • All devices sync up automatically

Why isn't my timer syncing properly?

Timer sync issues are usually related to connection stability. Here's how to troubleshoot:

Check Connection Status:

  • • Look for the connection indicator (green = synced, red = connecting)
  • • Refresh the page if connection seems stuck
  • • Ensure stable internet connection
  • • Try switching between WiFi and mobile data

Best Practices:

  • • Test timer sync during sound check
  • • Keep devices connected to stable WiFi
  • • Have backup timing method for critical performances
  • • Restart timer if sync appears lost

Performance & Features

How many people can collaborate on one event?

There's no hard limit on collaborators. You can add as many crew members as needed and share the event link with unlimited people.

Performance Considerations:

  • • More collaborators = more real-time updates
  • • Stable internet connection becomes more important
  • • Consider who really needs editing access vs. view-only
  • • Large festivals with 20+ crew members work great

Can audience members see my crew messages?

Messages are targeted! Only the intended recipients see each message:

Message Targeting:
  • Specific Crew: Only selected crew members see the message
  • All Crew: All added crew members see the message
  • Public Messages: Visible to everyone including guests
  • Guest View: Only sees messages sent to "All" or public

Privacy Tip: Technical messages ("Turn up guitar") sent to specific crew won't appear on the public view link.

How do I hide the timer from the audience?

Use the timer visibility toggle to control who can see the countdown:

Timer Visibility Options:

  • Show Timer: Visible on performance view for everyone
  • Hide Timer: Only visible to event managers and crew
  • Toggle Location: Look for timer settings in the setlist page
  • Real-time Control: Changes apply immediately

Common Issues & Solutions

My changes aren't saving or syncing

Quick Fixes:

  1. 1. Check your internet connection
  2. 2. Refresh the page (your work is saved locally)
  3. 3. Look for the auto-save indicator
  4. 4. Try editing a different song to test sync
  5. 5. Clear browser cache if problems persist

Prevention:

  • • Use stable WiFi connection when possible
  • • Keep browser tab active during editing
  • • Wait for auto-save before closing browser
  • • Test collaboration features during rehearsal

I can't find my event or setlist

Events are tied to your browser session. Here's how to recover them:

Recovery Steps:

  1. 1. Check your browser history for the event URL
  2. 2. Look for shared links in your messages/email
  3. 3. Try the same browser you used to create the event
  4. 4. Check if someone else has the event link
  5. 5. Recent events appear on the homepage

Future Prevention: Bookmark your event URLs or share them with band members to ensure you always have access.

Performance is slow or laggy

Connection Issues:

  • • Switch to a stronger WiFi network
  • • Try mobile data if WiFi is unstable
  • • Move closer to WiFi router
  • • Reduce number of connected devices
